Rules about the admit card itself

The 2026 brochure was specific:

  • It must be printed on a laser printer, not an inkjet.
  • It is not mailed to candidates.
  • Keep it safe until admissions are over. Duplicates are not issued after the exam, and you may need it at counselling.

What to carry on exam day

  • The printed admit card.
  • The same original photo ID you used in your application (Passport, PAN, Voter ID, Driving Licence or bank passbook page).

What not to carry

Calculators, mobile phones, smartwatches and other electronic gadgets are not allowed, according to the brochure. Leave them at home or follow the centre's instructions for storing belongings.

Reporting time

Candidates had to report one hour before the exam. For a 2

PM start, that means being at the centre by 1
PM. If the centre is in an unfamiliar city, visit or map the route the day before.

A small exam-day checklist

  • Admit card (laser printed) and one spare copy
  • Original photo ID
  • Directions to the centre and travel booked
  • Arrive one hour early
  • No phone, watch or calculator in the exam room

Once the exam is over, keep the admit card with your other NIMCET papers. For the next step, see the NIMCET exam dates calendar.
